I see its purpose as rewarding conformity, agreeing with the hivemind, only saying what others want to hear. It's a social credit score. Don't say the wrong thing. Don't step out of line. Don't speak about anything "controversial". Don't upset anyone. - Or you'll lose your color status that took you so long to achieve.
