When I was serving in PACOM, we had a real problem with the Hawaiians at the household goods depot at Pearl Harbor. The ethnic Hawaiians would intentionally crack open crates or not wrap them properly, so your entire household goods shipment back to the States would get ruined. Massive problem for the servicemember, expensive as fuck for the government. Hawaiians are some of the most racist people you’ll ever meet. It’s insane. If we hadn’t taken those islands over, the Japanese would have. And they likely would have met the same fate at the native Hokkaidans did; total extermination.
