deaths are lower this year than other years

I'm convinced that any arguments from this standpoint are either:

  1. malicious bullshit (disinfo)

  2. wishful/delusional thinking

In the USA, significantly more people have died this year than previous years (all cause mortality) according to official statistics. The increase for this year is much higher than usual year-to-year increases (it is not attributable to population growth alone).

We shouldn't have mandatory anything (lockdowns, shutdowns, masks, social distancing). For reasons such as proper role of government, tenuous/lacking consent of the governed, harm caused by these totalitarian policies, etc. Not because of notions of death counts being higher/lower than other years. When you argue from that needless position of weakness, you beg the question:

How many more people are you willing to let die before taking action?

Citation? That's an honest request. The numbers I've seen say the aggregate death numbers are similar or even less.

For the record, OP didn't provide a citation. Who knows where their numbers came from.

At least for the US, there are official numbers. Here's an example (from less than a month ago) of someone else claiming less deaths:

https://searchvoat.co/v/whatever/4151484/26724412/10#26724412

Basically these claims are based on comparing a partial year (2020) against full years, without adjusting for the fewer days of data. Here's an example where someone provided numbers from CDC trying to make the bunk claim, and they were picked apart. In summary, based on the numbers pushed in that thread:

2017 to 2018, deaths increased 2,142 per month

2018 to 2019, deaths increased 1,317 per month

2019 to 2020, deaths increased 27,566 per month

I can understand people doubting the official statistics. But some people for one reason or another are spreading lies about what the official mortality numbers are, and refuse to listen to reason.

The < numbers I've seen DID NOT fail to make the adjustment for a partial year.

That said, I will definitely dig into what you have here. Thanks for sharing.

You're not getting paid enough. And if you are in fact, not being paid to be this retarded, then you should probably re-evaluate your life.

>I'm convinced that any arguments from this standpoint are either: 1. malicious bullshit (disinfo) 2. wishful/delusional thinking

Proceeds to make arguments....

Like it or not, deaths are significantly higher this year according to official statistics. Your graphic is full of shit.

You're full of shit. John Hopkins just published a report last month stating the contrary. They even removed it because it was causing such a stir. Fuck off with your shitposting.

there are more dead, all 'covid' related...

I'm a retard. How do you get the blue line thingy?

I'm a retard. What does "source" mean underneath my post?

How do you get the blue line thingy?

I assume you're talking about quotations (like what I did above).

Begin your line of text with "> " (without the quotation marks). For example, I started my comment with "> How do you get the blue line thingy?" (and then two new lines using the <Enter> key)
