Most of the characters on mash are terribly developed. Many are just terrible people. Hawkeye is a shitty human. He plays this anti war cool guy,, but more than once he physically assaulted Frank. And Hawkeye isn't a good looking guy. He keeps being played as 'The Player", and he's not. And he made a shit load of gay jokes.

Margaret. WTF is w this character? She is all over the place. Why in the world is she seeing Frank? He's supposed to be w him because he'd some right wing nut, but he's the biggest panty waste on the Korean peninsula. One second she's a tough military woman the next she a dumbass, the next whatever

Radar. This mother fucker aged backwards. Look at the early seasons. Radar was hip. He was a player. He drank and got day passes like a gangster. The longer he spent in a war zone the more naïve he got. I'll skip the rest. It's not important really.

I mean I can go on, w each character. Henry Blake was alright. They had some good jokes stuffed into episodes. They fucked whats his name that was Trapper. They did have a nigger called Spearchucker, so you gotta give em that.

Charles is the only character who went through an actual arch w/in the story. He actually grew from being a stodgy stuck up ass hole until he was actually a real guy w both good and bad sides, and acted like it. He was an actual likeable human

Charles Emerson Winchester the 3rd was actually the star of MASH

FUCKING RETARD, it was about the KOREAN war.

Ok, still no war crimes captured, niggers getting high and prostitution either. Still not seeing anyone refuting those points of my argument.

Because it was a SITCOM = situational comedy. How old are you? Do you not understand a sitcom?

(Ignores that the post starter tried to argue non-fiction with me already.)

Someone isn't paying attention...

It was set in Korea, but it was ALL about Vietnam.

Yes and no. They WANTED to do it "about" Vietnam, but at that actual time in the USA, we had just finished the actual Vietnam war, and the producers of the show figured a show about Vietnam would be too "raw" on Americans nerves. <Bad sentence there, can't figure out how to strike through. Should say "Mash TV show started in 1972, USA had 3 more years in Vietnam. So they set it in Korea. Any simple search, hang on, I need to learn how to post links.

That is what I wrote. They dealt with themes and issues that directly related to and were politically hot about the Vietnam war. It was about Vietnam thematically, set in Korea. You wrote on the rawness well enough. It was true. The first fictional series to deal with Vietnam directly wasn't until the late 80's. Tour Of Duty. And it was emotional for many people even then.
