SS13 was great but damn if its hard to get into.
It's a cultural relic at this point. The devs of among us should be washing the balls of ss13s creators to show their gratitude.
My daughter was playing it in class, as it was pushed by their teacher, who is probably a fucking a commie whose vidya experience is akin to "Bree Larson and my favorite trans-donkey congress creature think this game is great!" and she's like "Dad, you have to get Among Us!" I looked at her and said "That shit is just SS13 watered down into Mafia."
To be fair, SS13s interface is second in approachability to Dwarf Fortress. Which is to say its unapproachable.
Wasn't it made in some shitty game engine btw? Was called 'beyond' or something?
Yeah 'Byond' IIRC. The UI so frustratingly stupid... but that's part of the charm, it keeps the casuals out.
I came back to it to play on the Kiwi Farms server (the only one not run by hyper autistic mega trannies). Null did a stream promoting his new server and recommended newbie players spend their first game learning to smoke a cigarette, since the interface is so bad that will literally take all game and in the end you will understand how to pick shit up and open boxes at least.
