I was on Voat a pretty long time. One thing I did not understand was the frequency of statements similar too, “It’s because of the Jews,” or “It’s the Jews.” I thought it was either people holding some kind of personal grudge or hyperbole. These were assertions, not arguments.
However, it started to get to me. I wondered what the basis of this was. Was it just blind hate, similar to Trump Derangement Syndrome, or was there something to this? The problem was, though, I did not know where to start researching—so I just moved it to the back of my mind.
Then I came across a comment that gave me a starting point. The one sentence in that comment was, “Hitler did nothing wrong.” I set out to see if that was true. Spoiler alter: It’s true.
I have not completed my research, but what I learned, I think, has changed me. First, is the deep sadness I now feel for this man who loved his people and his country. I want to tell him I am sorry for what I thought and felt about him and for the injustice that continues against him. Second, is the amazement and bewilderment when considering the deception and lying done by so many people who knew and know the truth. I have choice words for them.
There is still research to do and existing paradigms to reassess and there are still so many questions. For example, I would like to dig deeper into how Germany was framed for WWI; I do not have the full story on this yet.
Lastly, thank you to everyone who kept, and keeps, this lie bubbling up to the surface. Our dark corner of the web, now here on Poal, is small, but little seeds can go out. Little bits of truth, like poplar seed pods, float to faraway places, accumulate, and grow into something big.
