Men need more practice of just cutting women loose. They need to know how freeing it is. Make some unbreakable rules and don't tell her- any person should know not to do some things. When she does, change the locks.
Not joking, cut her out, block her, she no longer exists. Good thing about this is technology has made it so much easier to cut people off and women pushed for it with their constant claims of abuse.

What are the chances she was hoping to find something to use as blackmail? Straight up telling you feels like it was part of some failed plan or just admitting to trust issues.
