He then asked me if anyone on site had a fever or contact with anyone with covid-19 and a few other stupid stuff. I told him I didn feel comfortable being asked these questions and hung up. He proceeded to call me back and belligerently asked the same questions.

So, a few things.

  1. Firstly, the bolded is so I can point out that they are using 911 calls to do contact tracing. I'm probably on some list now (I didn't answer anything or give a name but they can probably trace my call anyways).

B. Can you just imagine the amount of man hours wasted spending the minutes on those ridiculous questions on every single call? The amount of tax payer money, the work hours wasted. That's not even to speak of the horrific human life cost, those precious minutes can and will be the difference between life and death. But naturally we can just waste any cost of human life because muh corunga bunga.

Third. I repeatedly kept asking the operator what any of these questions had to do with street racing and he just kept blurting out the same canned response of "theses are my procedure questions I have to ask these every call." That's all he would say, 4 times I asked and I got the canned response except he also said one time it was about "officer safety." Of course, I think I can actually speak for us all when I say we know that the majority of NPCs retards aren't going to ask what the questions are for will simply answer them all without a second thought.

Lastly, had this happened to anyone else? Is this wide spread now? Or was this some kind of isolated test run they just ran on me. It feels like they are going to push information giving compliance on the masses and basically turn neighbors into informants.

Same here, it’s county based and friends and family were hired and it’s not a minimum wage job.

Always being fleeced.

Exactly. But the county is “broke” and furloughing other (Important) employees - along with absolutely no raises or cost of living increases for anyone else. It’s clown world.

Yeah the whole social worker/mental health expert police shit is stupid I don’t argue that point but every government agency from local to federal is filled with bloat, redundancy to slow everything down and needs to be downsized. And around here the police have becoming increasingly useless since 2010 and are almost pointless in 2020 except to give people tickets to generate revenue.

Are there really important civil servants? From my time in the military and working around the federal “civil servant” you could get rid of 9 in 10 and still run efficiently if they actually worked like an employee at a private company. When they brought in an “efficiency expert” to see who could be downsized they were given a seminar beforehand telling them to make their job seem more complex then it was or they’d be downsized. How many were let go? 0.

I have a co-worker who’s daughter works for the state, she just lost her free bus/train pass(the horror). I’ve been to her office. It’s all computerized but they still staff like it’s the 1950’s.

They have 7 women standing in the downstairs office, you fill out everything electronically yourself, when you “submit” it goes to the office upstairs, the upstairs office prints a document, then they send it by tube to the 7 bitchy ladies standing around doing nothing downstairs. Then when one finally gets done gossiping she walks over to get the document and bitchly hands it to you.

Two people could run the two offices if it was a private business.
