I agree that Ukranians/Poles/Russians are good coders.
If you're talented though I think there is still a future in the first world for programmers. All the big tech does their real work in rich countries with smart populations - US/Japan/Korea/etc. The coders I knew in college earned the first year out of school in the ranges of $60-120k.
Anyway, I just think that if I am worried about being my country being undercut by cheap white collar labor elsewhere, then burgers and britbongs must really be fucked.
I still hire local, but only because I am a nationalist.
At least we know there's never a danger of women taking the coding jobs.
Reading your other comments I now understand you were speaking of coder as the job title, and I was thinking of coding in a general educational sense - meaning jobs from software engineering, security, etc. So you're probably right that grunt coders are in danger of having their jobs outsourced.
If it can be done remotely, it can be done in Ukraine or Belarus.
