Anyway, I just think that if I am worried about being my country being undercut by cheap white collar labor elsewhere, then burgers and britbongs must really be fucked.
I still hire local, but only because I am a nationalist.
At least we know there's never a danger of women taking the coding jobs.
Reading your other comments I now understand you were speaking of coder as the job title, and I was thinking of coding in a general educational sense - meaning jobs from software engineering, security, etc. So you're probably right that grunt coders are in danger of having their jobs outsourced.
If it can be done remotely, it can be done in Ukraine or Belarus.
I don't see any big tech companies moving their headquarters to Belarus anytime soon. I do agree they'll send the less important grunt work there though.
I think most startups will continue to form here too because the investment/venture capital is here.
