Very nicely stated, that's a lot to think about. I also went down the atheist/agnostic road and like you said, the search for unadulterated, unspun truth led to Christ.
Too many think they know what the truth is before they start to seek it,and they end up rejecting their own discoveries. Being as open minded as possible led me to many places I didn't want to go. The old me would view the person I am today as a very bad person, even though I am kinder, gentler, more generous and more respectful. And I am better liked too.
I get a great kick out of people talking about how good a guy I am, since if they knew my opinions, they would think I would have to be a bastard. People I know have all these conflicts and problems with people who have the "correct" opinions. Then they deal with me and I am so easy to get along with and they can't believe that anyone who thinks like I do would be good company.
