This is similar in the past to the claim of the so-called "Negro" pharaohs of ancient Egypt, which was easily debunked, especially when the DNA origin pointed to Western Ireland as having the identical DNA as the pharaohs. This is when the 'Black' pharaoh claim soon seemed to disappear. The trouble with this new idiocy is that the 'Moors' is a European name designating the Muslim inhabitants of the 'Maghreb', who invaded Spain and other European Mediterranean regions. The Maghreb is usually defined as much of northern Africa, including a large portion of Africa's northern parts of Sahara Desert, but excludes Egypt and Sudan. The Moors initially were the indigenous Maghrebine Berbers. The Maghreb then was defined as existing in Mediterranean North West Africa (Morrocco, Spanish Sahara, Algeria, and Tunisia). The problem with the 'claim' of Negroes being Moors is that Negroes only inhabited regions south of the Sahara. The Moors were Arabic Muslims. They did however ply the trade of slavery and trafficked Negro slaves. However, Muslims were very ruthless in keeping slaves confined to prison like conditions and typically castrated Negroes slaves so that they would not defile their women. No the 'claim' is more wishful thinking from a people unfamiliar with and never made use of the wheel. A cursory search on the Internet would find this information.
