However, Muslims were very ruthless in keeping slaves confined to prison like conditions and typically castrated Negroes slaves so that they would not defile their women.

You have to have developed a written language in order to read or write. Apefricans don't have any written history themselves so why would they be able to teach Europeans how to read and write?
