Interesting. Is there another explanation?

This might be the front and back of the same building. However, it is definitely not the same face of the building.

Edit: I'm starting to think it is the same face of the building and that the door area is just covered with debris.

That the (non-structural) grating and the sidewalk access doors are missing isn't really surprising, those aren't structural and the shockwave probably knocked them off. Had the explosion come up from under the sidewalk, I would expect the access port to be a crater, not still square, and probably more damage to the immediate front of the building. Most of the damage looks cosmetic, but it's not to say that something under the sidewalk didn't blow up as a result of the upper explosion.

I'm wondering more why the bomber would give a warning - what kind of motive is that? Just a "This is what we can do, next time it's serious" type thing?

I too was thinking about the crater vs square result. Maybe the bomber was unsuccessful due to the authorities and maybe the warning was from the authorities. Perhaps, they are covering up specific details. Have you seen this yet?

Southern accent is either really masculine or really feminine, nothing worse than the mixed in. That being said this Nancy does appear to corroborate the story. I'm going with plot foiled, mark one up for the good guys!

Not sure, could be. Or someone found a picture of a building of similar construction and assumed it was the building that was damaged in the bombing.

Yeah so I was fucked up, after comparing the street view that Hoppes9 provided to your pics i have to admit they appear to be the same building. Sorry bud, I guess it was the difference in angles and the amount of debris.

There is no front door, among other things, in the aftermath pic.

Edit: It appears that the front door is covered in debris.

there is, but it's covered by the lower-right portion of the yellow circle - look closer

Yes it is. Go on google map and look at the car-park building on the left and look around with your mouse for a better perspective.

for sure the bomb wasn't underground as in the pictures - you'll see that in this video where delicate infrastructure is still intact in that opening

Have some type of experience with this stuff from another job, if it was underground the blast area would be smaller and the damage more substantial to that area.
