Downvoting has some sort of effect on your super cool profile score or something.
I understand that posting the same thing in different subs gets more eyes on it, and I think that if there is only a single duplicate like this it shouldn't be an issue. The problem is when multiple people post the same damn thing again and again despite there already being posts about it, likely to farm upvotes. It's one thing that drove me mad about voat, we need ONE post per topic, not 20, and only in 2-3 main subs at that.
