I like that take, it sounds like the argument for religion that I use when an atheist starts sperging: Most people will behave like pieces of shit when faced with no accountability (here of course the atheists will likely agree, since they're projecting). So unless you want to watch everyone all the time (of course they don't), it is beneficial for the society to convince these idiots that something is always watching to make them accountable, whether you want to call it God or karma. I know it's a low IQ argument, but it's effective at keeping them from sperging. Sometimes permanently!
