Follow me...

  1. It was their duty.
  2. You paid your taxes (so he could shoot shit, shoot people, fuck foreigners, do it all for free and get paid). He should be thanking you.
  3. 70% of most units are filled with the sick, the lame, and the lazy. They don't show up for PT, working parties, or extra duty.
  4. You will never really know who the 30% are who broke their backs for the worthless 70%
  5. Most "veterans" are fakes. I said "Semper Fi" to this old dude at the store last week and he replied, "thank you". Fake mo fo.
  6. Of those that actually served, most embellished their service. For instance, every dude I meet that served just happened to be infantry. Well, who drove the trucks, cooked the food, did payroll, pulled teeth, issued boots?
  7. Last and most important: those who really deserve your thanks, CRINGE and hate you when you tell them "thank you for your service".

If you really want to thank them, don't make them cringe, hate you, or inspire people to lie. IF you meet someone that likes hearing thank you, remember he's a snake liar. Don't have business dealings with him, let him marry your daughter, or take your beer.

I dont hate anyone when they say it....I make sure to tell them it wasn't for you so there isn't thanks needed...I did it for me and my growth as a person.

Dude. You actually say that? Seriously all of that? I can't imagine the volume of words ever coming from my mouth after a "TYFYS".

But to each his own I guess. I'm just more used to guys who jumped out 2nd deck windows in their dress blues, drunk as skunks, just to run back up and do it again. Cavemen types. The most civilians usually get out of us is grunts and glares.

"Growth as a person". Really? Or are you just funking with me dude?

For me that is what I went in with as intentions. Lol. I was 18 and being from Oklahoma with nothing really going for me...yeah it is what I thought I would get.

I did in some ways, and others I lost some of what I was.

"Lost some of what you were". 100% nothing of what I was. I was a silly cry baby. Selfish. Needy. A bitch. Marine Corps sorted that shit out fast. Best thing I ever did for myself. I was a big pot head starting at 11 years old. Chose the Corps because I knew a self-help Koombiya wouldn't do shit. I chose the boot up my ass.

Well, you can't be too bad being an Okie. Okie heritage on both sides of my family. Crazy fuckers. Did you lose your crazy dude?
