When voat was young there were some great minds there. It was in decline lately. I'm so glad I got to experience voat. It was beautiful.

Yes indeed, Voat was really good for a while. This is my opinion, but I think what wrecked it is that its setup gave the advantage to shills/agents (endless downvote and trashpost ability, etc) and eventually most of the genuine contributors were driven off because of brigade downvoting or lost in the clouds of Off Topic/Pool Shitting/Yesterdays News/Ancient JooMemes, etc. spam posted 24/7 by armies of shills. Whether that advantage for the shitheads was intentional or not is a subject for debate I guess, but personally I think it was intentional because genuine users complained about it all the time and nothing was ever done to remedy the situation. On the upside, some of those who got sick of Voat for the reasons listed and perhaps also the canary crash started this place which seems to have a pretty good system of limiting the shithead posters.
