Snopes was rotten from the start. Beta pig fucker did it for the shekels, so he could finance his hooker addiction and got rid of his sow once it was worth it. They obviously had to do real fact checks at the beginning to attract an audience.

Snopes was useful 20 years ago when email was filled with "Pass along to all your contacts" horror "facts" like "Underarm deodorant causes breast cancer". People would send that shit to me and I'd send them the snopes link.
In the last 8-10 years they have started taking on the political stuff, trying to keep up with all the craziness floating around on the biased social sites, trying to reinforce their political positions. Their bias is obvious and irritating. They are still usable for debunking shit like "Brushing your teeth causes foot odor" where there is only solid science needed. For politicas stuff they are no longer relevant.
