That's what you get with nigger-tier Chinks and other POC making our goods. Bring back white manufacturing
So... Which is the good one?
Yes
Top one is missing 1/4 inch at the start.
I have that tape. The 35ft stanley tape has a loose end what you see in this picture is the metal end is pushed in out of its normal position. If there where tension on the tape it would pull it into the correct position and the tape would read true.
Ummm dude, they are made to read the same, whether pushed or pulled.
What im saying is the metal end is loose and the tape needs replacement.
Next time buy one made somewhere that doesn't use metric.
Name checks out.
The metal tip at the end of your tape measure is a little bit loose for a reason. The first inch of the tape is short by 1/16 of an inch. This isn't an error: it's meant to provide you with accurate readings whether you're measuring the inside or outside edge of a surface. This feature is known as “true zero”.
This one seems a bit more the 1/16th but I think this is why.
Photoshopped, fake and gay. I've used dozens of Stanley tapes and never seen one off like that. Believe me, word would get out in the carpenter field and nobody but homeowners would buy a stanley tape ever again.
Journeyman carpenter here. The top tape is photoshopped. The tongue is intentionally loose so if you're reading inside or outside measurements it will slide and the 1/16 (the thickness of the tongue itself) will be taken out of the equation. We swear by Stanley tapes because they rarely have defects or cheap quality. Yes our tapes wear out, but those tapes last longest, and give us the least shit. Had this picture been of chinesium tapes I would have possibly believed that it was for real.
