Poal is small enough that I typically browse /all/new/ and I see a fair amount of utter crap content (gibberish post title with no content) that gets a handful of up votes. Who does that? Is Poal really starting to have vote manipulation problems? I know you only allow showing down votes on posts for a reason but I have to ask... is it the same accounts up voting this crap every time?

Generally speaking poal is small enough most people upvote most content even the junk type stuff. I think this isn't necessarily a problem at the moment. In all honesty as the site grows it will probably work itself out as people don't feel the need to upvote things purely based on contribution and start voting based more on merit.

I get the concept of what you are trying to do... we need more content on Poal and we need a healthy up vote stream... but I am not talking about "content I don't like" and I am not talking about "bad content" which I would define as things like content that is illegal, false, fabricated stories, propaganda, etc... No, I am talking about content looks like it was generated by a random word script and has no link, content, image, etc... just pure gibberish. Why would we want to encourage that?

I have seen zero illegal content here. If you are referring to last nights foreverlurk and others it is amusing to watch them respond. They have a right to Express their reality no matter how stupid it is. If the site gets bigger they will be drowned out so let them have some attention now. That's just my thoughts on it

Im with the torch here. Stop giving the spammers and people to retarded to even use the site upvotes. Eventually that account will be used for nefarious deeds, and people with upvotes have more pull in peoples minds. This is why I don't have a problem downvoting anything

I have started to cut back because there is genuine bullshit in /new now, but I'm voting most stuff up... spam is recent though so that doesn't get up or down from me

I'm upvoting most stuff due to the small size of the site. It helps to build it up. Overtime I'll only upvote what I find I should be upvoting.
