I had done handyman work in the past with my pops so I'm familiar with the basics but I've never worked new construction before.

Frankly I'm sore but this seems to be a really good change of pace.

Wish me luck!

I spent a long time working jobs for about 5 years at a go then landed as a courier. I was layed off due to a failed contact negotiation. That resulted in my working at a steel processing plant for two years. It wasn't hard work, but it was harder work than I had done to that point. I'm glad to not be doing it now, but I never backed down from the challenge. Push yourself. You'll be amazed at what you learn.

Good luck.

Thank you!

Steel processing plant actually sounds like one of the coolest jobs. I'm glad you enjoy it!

Good luck!

I feel ya, I've been working as a moving man. Shit is heavy.

Double up the amount of protein in your diet and your muscles will heal and grow. Don’t skimp or you will always feel sore.

Thank you for the advice! Will do!

I have worked a lot of misc jobs and construction is by far the most rewarding I have done. You constantly see the fruits of your labor and depending on your field you get the opportunity to help people get their home back when life has dumped on them. Lots of feel goods.

Make sure you never try to catch anything heavy that might be slipping or falling. Also watch out for the other assholes dropping pipe from a floor above.

At 18, I went and worked at Avondale Shipyard. Welders and construction workers way up high inside the hull let all sorts a shit fall down to where we minimum wage slaves were cleaning it up. I wisely got the hell out after the first week. Terrible and dangerous work.

Stay safe!
