How many nefarious and dystopian laws were passed while the media droned on and on about "murder hornets" or "mad cow disease" or the hole in the ozone layer, or global warming, or whatever?

They probably just came up with the idea of a pandemic so they could just chill for a bit and not have to think up a new scary thing every god damned month. It's been 6 months of the same story now this year.
