If police are no longer funded by tax dollars, but still allowed to operate, think of how much worse traffic cops will get. Also, how much money do you think will get confiscated by "drug busts"? Also, a whole bunch of people trained in defense that can get lethal gets put out of jobs by a loud identifiable group? Yeah, that'll work out great for them.

When the paychecks stop and police have to fend for themselves there will be a difficult adjustment. They may still maintain their murder/theft squads, but resistance will be much greater. When a home invasion means one or two ex-cops ends up full of holes, they won't want to do that too often.
