why?
most male primates care for their young in some capacity. gorillas are omnipresent in their kids lives and groom them. many male human fathers show no devotion to their children. and outside primates, we're still pretty closely related to a lot of species with caring fathers, like canids
its naturally biased because as an anthropologist she studies humans, not other animals. you see it all the time in scientific literature, animals and their behaviors are assumed to be non-existant unless observed and documented (and even then its often forgotten and reassumed to be nonexistant)
