These people are how they are based on their own upbringing, as taught by their own self-centered parents, the very ones you indicate that should be kept home among the kids. Nope. All of this is learned behavior and becomes multi-generational. Soon enough, these adults will find themselves warehoused in Senior Centers and they will wonder how this came to pass.
