I and my employer order a lot of electronic components. We've both noticed that shipments from China seem to be moving again, although some factories still seem to be shut down. The PCB fab house I use sent me a letter asking about new projects, and other parts have started to move again. This is in contrast to January/February (discounting the Lunar New Year) when nothing moved.

So. Did they get a handle on this thing or is it just their government going work work work we don't care if you're dying?

I regularly order small bits and pieces from China on Ebay and other places, knowing that they will take a while. I ordered a thing on Amazon that was coming from China in early Jan and it had an estimated time of 6 weeks to arrive. After that time had long since elapsed, I approached Amazon. They declared the package lost and refunded my money. Lo and behold, it arrived today.

I usually allow 8-10 weeks for China shipments depending on the carrier. Orange Connex seems to be the best at getting things here quickly, but others take their good ol time.

Nice that shipments started again. I wouldn't blame their government, I think they are not used to doing nothing..

But you have to take postal services into account. Maybe USPS won't work properly for the next months.

So operating as normal then? The post office in my neighborhood seems to have about a 3 in 5 chance of getting the right stuff in your box.

In Greece, you may have to wait for months for your packet to arrive from abroad as they try to find out if they can charge anything (taxes and so on). They tried to charge 15 euro for each small packet from China, but this backlashed and decided to postpone their plan. However, now the postal service doesn't work anyway due to the virus hoax, not to mention that they are ready to go bankrupt.

The USA's post office is China's little bitch. You can send a packet from China to the USA for about US$1. It costs me US$0.55 to send a letter across the county.

Ours is losing money as well, but only because congress forced them to pre-fund their pension plan because you know as well as I do that they would happily not even worry about that until it was time to pay.

That's the most reasonable explanation, so it's probably the correct one.

Live webcam shows the street in Nantong in China in real time. With the help of this street webcam you can see what the situation is now prevailing in the city. The camera is installed near the road, next to a public transport stop. The live broadcast also shows part of the car park and nearby buildings.

Im sure there are many other live web cams.

I got a "not available" message with that one.

they must of just taken it offline. Most of chinas live web cams have been taken offline. Just proves they dont want the world to know life is not back to normal.

That wouldn't surprise me in the least. Edit:I just hit it again and it's live, but it's what? 9PM? Not much going on.
