I've seen enough of Andrew Camarata's videos and I wouldn't consider him an expert welder. His welds are effective, but I don't think that alone moves him to the level of expert.
Hard for me to tell, I'm not even mediocre, but I think anyone who can do thin gauge aluminium without visual flaws is a good welder. I really enjoy seeing a good welding/fabrication job so some of the beauty may be in the eye of the beholder.
I think he said in one of his videos he doesn't care how it looks, it just has to hold.
Function over Form i guess. I thought that if it looks good, it is good.
