This is a perfect case study of "legal entropy". While I just made that term up, it's probably the most apt one. The system is so interwoven and broken that the only way to get real justice is to burn the system down and go back to anarchy. I believe this agitation is the plan at all levels.
If only we could all afford an attorney that causes the government to do a full document dump every time the government convicts someone.
They made the concept of plea deals because trial is already too expensive for courts to go through for the large volume of convictions. Imagine if instead they had to do a multi agency document dump every time, within hella tight deadlines, and asking for everything both in vague and specific ways.
I think we all know his defense strategy - "He dindu nuffin!" with some "Oi vey, it's annuda shoah!" on the side.
