There is overlap. The problem is the cult that took over Judaism (which was already infantalized due to their perpetual loss of their nation) did it first and has pretty much infested what we see today as Jews. This sect has infested everywhere else which is why it's spreading. It will spread because there are carnal affirmations that overtake the participants who actually believe they are doing something moral.

For an example of this, look at intersectional feminism. They have the same issue and are essentially a sabbatean sect which has crept into what Atheist feel is moral behavior. See for some examples of how Feminism has the same elements of a cutl/religion but is actually just people sucked into feeling affirmation through moral inversion.

But idolatry (which happens naturally with any organized church) leads to our damnation. If you think of satanism being evil, you'll never understand what's really happening. By moral inversion, it's not a 180, but becomes perpendicular (90 degrees) and neutralizes all virtue by spreading it everywhere but toward Logos.

Note for example that Christianity without God (a central point of virtue) is Communism (virtue is pointed at everything but a central point). In this way, morality is inverted because it is dissipated to all points, making it non existent.

my understanding of God is that he needed a way to communicate with humans not because of his limitations, but ours. I see jesus as similar to the way we use penicillin. modified bacteria introduced to communicate to other bacteria. humans are considerably more sophisticated than bacteria, but the gap between us and them is similar to the gap between us and God.
