I think your analogy of Jesus being like an added substance to society to provide insight for those who wish to seek it is apt. While I read many stories and realize there are parables of truth in them, I can find something substantial in them and don't need to assume the events actually happened. The messages in there resemble some kind of universal truth. Jesus is the way, and shows us to use eternal vigilance in order to allow the friction of our experiences to guide us and find truth. Because we are human, we have these agitating sensations that without we would not be able to measure anything. By ignoring these agitations or falling into normalization of feeling good, we invert morality rather than seek a higher normalization. We have to embrace some of the agitation rather than seek relief from it. Satanism (and many other flavors) provides a path for us to seek relief, but steals our victory to find true empowerment. It's flawed because while you participate in it to seek power, it turns out there is no real power without empowerment. You can't control Logos and have no say in it, but if you seek truth the agitation brings you, it can help you understand it and free yourself from being victim to it.
