Usually not. I don't think hosts file would have blocked that. It's a Youtube ad on Youtube.

I don't ever see any youtube ads nor ads on any other video platforms. I also noticed I can't view DailyMail with uBlock enabled on a chromium based browser (I was using Torch to grab a video) but I don't have to disable uBlock on IceDragon (firefox based). Google is working with these advertisers!!!
They (dailymail) couldn't do jack about my modified hosts file. I have also played with custom DNS servers, like PiHole, but I never see ads with my hosts file.

On my jailbroken iPad 2 I used to be able to block all kinds of stuff. The iOS I have now deletes my custom hosts file after any sort of reboot though. I have to use a custom DNS server if I want to get serious about it now.

Eh, I don't care quite that much. I am switching Javascript on per site which seems to help a bit.
Maybe if I was on slower hardware I would do more about it. I do prefer to go to sites without so many ads and what not.
