Personally I think a divine being creating people is just as far out there as something as complex as a human body being the result of countless random positive mutations (mutations often cause sterility, and positive ones are exceptionally rare) a pool of ooze had.
Have you considered the possibility that an intelligent alien species created life on Earth? Or at least sent it here on a probe? It's as likely as any other explanation, IMO.

One of the most well known, as far as I know, is the work by Zecharia Sitchin, where he apparently translated some really old stone tablets speaking of deities of the ancient Sumeria.
