My first computer was a Gateway with a 45mb hard drive. I remember thinking I'll never use all that.

I remember saving the evil dead desktop on floppy disk. In fact i still believe it is around here somewhere but since transfered.

I need to build a new pc. Everything I do goes thru my computer now. My home security cameras, tv, phone and shitposting. I would be thrust back into the stone age if my computer died right now.

Im actually anti technology.I didnt used to be, I loved it when xp came out. I give nothing permission. Phone is for text calls and camera only. Hell i even cover the selfie lense! Yah yah I know.

It ends once the police break down your door, or at least you hope it ends there. ZFS FTW.

I've got two 8TB Raid1 arrays that will need an upgrade in a few months.

If your including what you do here Im not surprised. I just got alot of tv series, movies, music and shit.

My movies are on older failing HDDs from previous arrays I had, they still work but can't be trusted for important data backup/storage anymore.

Thats why I keep buying new ones to back up the old ones, I use to just save old hard drives.

I used to keep movies and tv shows I never watch too. Then I realized that it's pretty stupid since I can download anything that isn't 4k in less than a minute.

something something what if no internet

Either it was planned so prepare for that time, or there is no internet and therefore probably no power either.

I got alternate power choices., but Im more preparing for old age and certainly not paying for tv, and maybe not internet either. Leave it to beaver still entertains, even at 40 gigs.

LTO tape drives are expensive, but after the initial investment you can get like 6.25TB of storage(compress data) for ~$25.

Do you even backup, bro?

seriously? Ill stick to several backups with external hds.

It doesn't.

The drives get bigger, but so do the files.
