Just gonna word-vomit, so you can be acquainted a bit with my trains of thought: I'm well aware who is, so it's easy to appreciate what he said, on a few levels. He words things very carefully, and knows a lot about... let's say "social engineering". I also know that aside from very few, candid, moments he's usually in some form of battle-stance.

When reading what people say, particularly in a conversation such as this, I reread things multiple times and attempt to imagine the implications of their meaning, depending on which motive behind each thought fits the most to form a coherent picture. Even if it doesn't clarify the speaker's message, it can provide insight in to their state of mind and intent. Sometimes you get more knowledge out of how things are worded, than the words themselves. This isn't new, and can be likened to reading "body-language".

I've talked about esotericism quite a bit, on both sites. To someone paying attention, it wouldn't be difficult notice. Presumably he can frame his thoughts in such a way to appeal to my sensibilities. I do this all the time ("mirroring"?), as a tool (heh) that works to foment more accurate/friendly communication. I also attempt to match the depths of my knowledge (whatever that may be) to those with whom I'm speaking. Pearls before swine, swimming upriver without a paddle, hammering the circle in to the square, etc.

It's important for you to see those words and think those thoughts.

I'll take your advice and re-read it with a blank slate, at some point, if just for giggles. However, not really sure to which part of his comment you are referring. Similar thoughts are already in my mind. This wouldn't even be the first time that I've read the name "Allister Crowley", in the past week. Are you talking about Web's ability to take various elements of something, through objective observation, and weave them in to a coherent narrative? His ability to even recognize those pieces, let alone where to put them?

He quotes the song "Ænema", in correct context. Which had previously not been discussed in this thread. He clearly knows/has thought, at least a bit, about them and their music. Is it the nod to Jungian psychology? Is that what Tool's doing— offering a path for the listener to confront a reflection of the unwanted aspects of their own psyche? Or is it an exposition of my worldview, that I see in them a reflection of my own esoteric beliefs? Because then I simply re-eloquated his point back to him, through my own mental filter/reference for understanding, to internalize the knowledge I gleaned from his comment. Not really sure what to make of that, yet.

I could go on. Got other stuff to do before the end of the day, though, so will stop there. :p

Well, when I said that, I didn't exactly mean for it to solely be directed at you.

Music = Magick

Their symbol is an upside down Crowely seven pointed star

https://jssocial.pw/ppkey/fget/pic8/upload/qXys7E59wf.jpeg

they understand the magic and are inverting for good because they are a "tool" for the message of truth... especially the dark truth.

Rosetta Stoned

Read the lyrics https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/tool/rosettastoned.html

Maynard just tells us.

Their most recent album, "Fear Inoculum" is exactly what it says... a series of spells designed to make people immune to fear and it is directed directly at the fear mongerers

Reread the first line in this comment. Fear is the Mind-Killer. Fear is also a choice.

So, while they embrace the magic... they see it as a Tool and have always been against the grain in the metal/grunge/alternate world.

This is probably the most impressive from web. Not too many are ready to discover the "magick" we're aware of (what little of it we are, anyway) isn't necessarily bad.

"Fuck your tatttoos" "Fuck all you junkies and fuck your short memories." Like a gun, "magic" is a tool. It can be used for good or bad.

"I can't imagine why you wouldn't welcome any change, my friend."

And by magic, I mainly mean organizational and Jungian psychology, in this particular case.

Forty Six & 2

Again, the first line in this comment should be noted.

Alright, as for what you wrote, I think you're doing a lot of analysis that wasn't needed. The familiarity with what you're calling "social-engineering" simply labels web's surprising level of insight. The guy's pretty neat all around.

Are you talking about Web's ability to take various elements of something, through objective observation, and weave them in to a coherent narrative? His ability to even recognize those pieces, let alone where to put them?

Yeah, that was impressive. I don't see this in many places. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this like I'm super smart and I could've done better. In fact, it's quite the opposite. He spoke to things I couldn't, and explained them in ways I always have trouble accomplishing.

the nod to Jungian pyschology

Well, that was interesting to read. I'd been wanting to get in to it for a while, only to discover it's literally what I'd been learning already essentially on my own. That was pretty cool. Like I've said before, I may not know its name, but I damn well know the play when I see it.

The multi-tool types are always super interesting to me. A lot could be learned in web's (and maynard's) words. When I said you really need to reread what he said, I didn't mean to suggest you hadn't contributed much on the subject; instead, my not noticing was just an example of my not having seen much of what you've done. I've been meaning to do something tonight, so I won't begin or think much of it yet, but make a sub or something about analyzing Tool or escoterism and I'll stop by and explain all of the popular songs to you in the ways they've been explained to me. Trust me, you're going to want to hear this. It's interesting as fuck, even if there's nothing to it. Frankly, what's so intriguing to me is more that the frame of reference all fits way too well in to the perspective I've been conjuring for the past couple of years. Although, the reason could easily be more due to the messenger's way of explaining things. Either way I'm rambling now and I need to sort of relax so I'll get to that some time tomorrow for you.

For now, a short taste:

YOU ARE NOT YOUR BODY

You are instead divine.

Let the waters kiss and transmutate these leaden grudges in to gold.

Maynard made the deal.

You seem like a smart guy, with a good head on his shoulders. So let me just short-hand the rest of this comment and save myself a lot of typing. :p I'll give you a few bullet points of where I'm at:

Rosetta Stoned

Probably my favorite song. Ever. Literally. 10,000 Days is a way underappreciated album.

Fear is the Mind-Killer. Fear is also a choice.

Not even just fear, but all emotions. Becoming your own master means, firstly, acknowledging and using your own control over yourself, at all times. I wish I were that perfect.

Not too many are ready to discover the "magick" we're aware of

This part is frustrating; but there are solutions. Personally, I've found one that works and it's great. Highly recommend you look in to answering this question, for yourself.

Forty Six & 2

More food for thought. I've run in to this one, before. This transition is allegorical, IMO. But I do believe that the next form of evolution will hold an intangible element (if not be entirely intangible), of which only other humans with the mental capacity to understand it would be able to even perceive it. Humans with all sorts of crazy mental powers like hearing glimpses of each other's thoughts, seeing quick snippets of the near-future, etc. The only reason we all don't make use of these abilities is because of our own lack of self-confidence, as hilarious as that sounds.

YOU ARE NOT YOUR BODY

You are instead divine.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude, half of all my knowledge is based on the presumption that my soul is super-glued to this dank body, for better-or-worse. As above, so below. :p This part I'll yell in to anyone's face that's willing to hear it. Not many are, though. Lol.

Now go listen to Parabola.

The Grudge is about abandoning your ego.

Saturn is the stone that drags you down, fear, your ego. The "gold" in you will emerge once you abandon Saturn and embrace your divinity.

How does this relate to Maynard? Well, one can easily examine the symbolism in use in his pizza truck and ice cream truck businesses. He understands magick. His band is one of the few, if not the only band, doing mass "rituals" out in the open. Again, Music = Magick. In this case, however, few are able to use it in the way TOOL uses it.

Pneuma reiterates what I tell you about Parabola

We are all on Breath, one Word

We are all on Spark, sun becoming

We are shards of Creator. As Parabola suggests:

We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment. We are choosing to be here, right now. Hold on. Stay inside this HOLY REALITY.

Now consider Rosetta Stoned again. How does this intertwine?

What I think is the neatest, to be frank, is how inoculating fear will bring about the flood of LA.

Maynard said recently, on stage in LA, "Still here for now, Los Angeles." Oh, the synchronicity. You should turn the news on over the next few weeks, by the way.

More to come, just ask.
