Their symbol is an upside down Crowely seven pointed star, meaning they understand the magic and are inverting for good because they are a "tool" for the message of truth... especially the dark truth.

Their most recent album, "Fear Inoculum" is exactly what it says... a series of spells designed to make people immune to fear and it is directed directly at the fear mongerers on both sides of the aisle... referring to these people as psychopaths and having delusions from mania. "don't point your psychopathy at me."

Maynard took flack from the MSM because he wouldn't denounce Trump explicitly enough, merely stating that "ignorance is the enemy" and "I don't like ANY politicians."

So, while they embrace the magic... they see it as a Tool and have always been against the grain in the metal/grunge/alternate world. "Fuck your tatttoos" "Fuck all you junkies and fuck your short memories." Like a gun, "magic" is a tool. It can be used for good or bad. And by magic, I mainly mean organizational and Jungian psychology, in this particular case.

"Magic" is certainly a lot more practical than most people allow themselves to believe. It's concepts are simply given new names and repackaged with a materialistic slant; so that the college crowds will understand/use them only in very controlled, half-knowing ways. So many people I see get disappointed when they finally learn why some things are the way they are. All, "oh, I expected something 'different'." No! You learned the thing! How do you not see what huge advantage knowing this gives you?! So many people, walking around hypnotized under someone else's spell and never being aware of it, their whole lives. I'm sure there's quite a few that I've yet to shake off.

Thanks for the point of view.

Web is continually impressive.

Reread what he said another time. It's important for you to see those words and think those thoughts.

Few can do what he just demonstrated. No (Do) not look the other way; remember.

Just gonna word-vomit, so you can be acquainted a bit with my trains of thought: I'm well aware who is, so it's easy to appreciate what he said, on a few levels. He words things very carefully, and knows a lot about... let's say "social engineering". I also know that aside from very few, candid, moments he's usually in some form of battle-stance.

When reading what people say, particularly in a conversation such as this, I reread things multiple times and attempt to imagine the implications of their meaning, depending on which motive behind each thought fits the most to form a coherent picture. Even if it doesn't clarify the speaker's message, it can provide insight in to their state of mind and intent. Sometimes you get more knowledge out of how things are worded, than the words themselves. This isn't new, and can be likened to reading "body-language".

I've talked about esotericism quite a bit, on both sites. To someone paying attention, it wouldn't be difficult notice. Presumably he can frame his thoughts in such a way to appeal to my sensibilities. I do this all the time ("mirroring"?), as a tool (heh) that works to foment more accurate/friendly communication. I also attempt to match the depths of my knowledge (whatever that may be) to those with whom I'm speaking. Pearls before swine, swimming upriver without a paddle, hammering the circle in to the square, etc.

It's important for you to see those words and think those thoughts.

I'll take your advice and re-read it with a blank slate, at some point, if just for giggles. However, not really sure to which part of his comment you are referring. Similar thoughts are already in my mind. This wouldn't even be the first time that I've read the name "Allister Crowley", in the past week. Are you talking about Web's ability to take various elements of something, through objective observation, and weave them in to a coherent narrative? His ability to even recognize those pieces, let alone where to put them?

He quotes the song "Ænema", in correct context. Which had previously not been discussed in this thread. He clearly knows/has thought, at least a bit, about them and their music. Is it the nod to Jungian psychology? Is that what Tool's doing— offering a path for the listener to confront a reflection of the unwanted aspects of their own psyche? Or is it an exposition of my worldview, that I see in them a reflection of my own esoteric beliefs? Because then I simply re-eloquated his point back to him, through my own mental filter/reference for understanding, to internalize the knowledge I gleaned from his comment. Not really sure what to make of that, yet.

I could go on. Got other stuff to do before the end of the day, though, so will stop there. :p
