There's nothing that so exemplifies the cult of narcissism among modern women than the selfie in which she gazes lovingly at her own reflection in her phone rather than looking outward at the audience. She is so in love with herself, so enamoured of her own body. Narcissus, in Greek mythology, was well-known for his beauty. He spent all his time gazing at his own reflection, rejecting all romantic advances. No one could ever love him as much as he loved himself and of course he had no love to offer another.
