Why not both?
colonized has become a swear word to the left. Letting them change the meaning of another word is gay. Whites did colonize, and through colonizing we civilized the landscape. Everywhere we go we bring peace and prosperity. People like to ignore what precedes us so that they can fixate on whites flaws in a vacuum. they are faggots.
They're actually extremely racist by painting whites with a large negative brush and not treating them as individuals. Calling all whites colonizers who only wanted to steal resources ignores those who wanted to live peaceful productive lives in a new (to them) frontier. It also ignores the fact that many whites were indentured servants at the time and didn't have any choice in the matter.
In their assault of historical white migration they ignore the modern equivalents as well.
