I figured I would pass this along if anyone reads this. You know how when you’re bench pressing and you’re straining your back will arch? Yea don’t force your back to stay flat. I did that for the first time ever and now my back is fucked. I guess that’s what happen cause it’s the only thing I did different and this is the only time Iv hurt my back like this. I don’t know how long this gonna last but I had to skip leg day over this bs

People arch their backs benching all the time and their fine 99.9% of the time. I need to start working out and I wish I could thank everyone from voat for all the encouragement they gave me to quit smoking cigarettes which I did :) and quit drinking. Next diet and work out constantly.

He's saying he did the opposite; he tried to keep it flat. You should arch your back as well as curl your legs in and push them into the ground if you are going flat max bench. I keep it flat only for secondary chest exercises as they are more isolation and less weight.

Congrats on quitting. I keep falling back into drinking after a few months of cleanliness. I got some cognac to go with my cigars and drank the whole bottle in one night dammit.
