We did have significantly fewer 'naders here this year, much to the chagrin of our local weather guy. He gets really involved, has for years, but the weather guys here do know their stuff due to the many we get over time. We've been through this:

The 1999 Bridge Creek–Moore tornado was an extremely powerful F5 tornado in which the highest wind speeds ever measured globally were recorded at 301 ± 20 miles per hour (484 ± 32 km/h) by a Doppler on Wheels (DOW) radar.

I was 8 miles away and assisted in the aftermath. And that one was just the worst, many just under that value. The saying there is "God really hates Moore" and only Mooreons live there, as it's been flattened twice in 8 years. But yes, this year was very calm, only a few big ones that stayed out in the country.
