I believe this one will be a commercial gun, sold on stores and such.
But a while ago I heard about a team developing a 3D printed version of the (then) FMG.
All it would take is for some freedom loving patriot to buy one and then 3D scan into STL for the rest of us.
It's not that easy, really.
But 3D scans and measurements sure do help the process.
It's easy if the parts are open enough for the scan to capture the contours. After that post processing can fix any errors.
Scans produce large files with too many vertices, but it will create a viably sliced part.
