Warhammer Community has announced a new 9th ed. Warhammer 40K battlebox "Piety and Pain" The new Battlebox pits the Sisters of Battle against the Drukhari which is historic on several levels. One it's the first Battlebox without the flagship Space Marines taking the primary role, two it marks an update of the Drukhari product line, and three who doesn't like a little girl on girl action?

Well your uncle Adolph didn't and you shouldn't either.

While I welcome a fresh product from GW with some much anticipated models I wonder if this doesn't signal a trend of GW becoming ever more socially "woke." Who can forget the June 2018 Warhammer Community message "Warhammer is for everyone" which basically told anyone with right to center-right leaning views to go pound sand. "You will not be missed." Warhammer is apparently not for everyone, right wingers need not apply. One hint of SJW creep at GW might be the new Lelith Hesperax model which looks remarkably "plus sized" for an Aeldari Matriarch. Previous Lelith models have been svelt and lithe, the new model looks chunky and the stylized abdominal muscles on the figurine come across looking like flab.

Time will only tell if the GW wokeness will lead to brokeness.

From the angry shouting face to the sigmarine gut, the block shaped feet to the dead alderi, this model is a miss. Besides it is not being flattering, there is no real improvement compared to her old model (pic8.co). The cold stoic brooding stare spoke more for the model then the yelling action pose.
