From the post:

>One American has died and dozens more are sick amid an outbreak of E Coli linked to McDonald's. The CDC said Tuesday that 49 people in 10 states have been sickened from the same strain of the deadly bacteria that kills up to one in five sufferers. Ten of the patients have been hospitalized, including a child who sufferered life-threatening kidney damage from the infection. The only fatality was an elderly man in Colorado. All affected patients had eaten at McDonald's before getting sick, and most of them specifically mentioned ordering the chain's popular Quarter Pounder burger.

Some of the food safety protocols used by NASA were originally created by McDonalds. Honestly, if you are traveling it is probably one of the safest places to eat and not get sick while on travel.

Yes, that's their thing - and something that Kroc insisted on. The McDonalds in your town must taste just like the McDonalds in the city 1000 miles away from you. You knew what you were getting because it was of defined quality.

Is it really good for you? No, of course not. But a burger, small fry, and a drink on the go when you knew exactly what you were getting was invaluable. One more thing we've lost.
