It can be manually shifted. The bike has 3 different modes, and automatic shifting is a feature you can toggle in one or two modes (ECO and maybe EV). Sport mode requires manual shifting obviously, but sport has a toggle feature where the bike can basically downshift to 1st gear automatically when stopped.
