Normalcy bias is powerful. I cognitively know and see all the signs that I'm going to live through the American holodomor, or civil war 2, or ww3 and I still can't make myself disconnect fully. I've been preparing since the signs started but... Damn. The heartache and dread at what's coming isn't getting any easier.
