That's an interesting presentation.

As for laws, the concept of a law is something that is fixed. It's silly to talk of laws that aren't fixed as they wouldn't be laws. He's really just saying that he considers other things to be the actual laws, not the ones currently identified. His suggestion of an evolutionary universe just puts the laws of how things evolve as the laws.

It just gets worse as he goes on. I can see why they didn't carry this. It wouldn't be so dumb if he didn't sound like he believes his alternate theories in the same way he criticizes the mainstream view. He would have made a more powerful presentation if he gave multiple out-of-the-box explanations for the things, not just his pet view.

Working theories are useful to guide research. I approach things like the big bang as merely a rough sketch to guide model-building. Some people of course view it as fact and are hostile towards different theories.

I really like the movie The Matrix. Over the years I've found it does such an excellent job of illustrating various ideas and alternate ways of thinking. And it's based on Plato's Allegory of the Cave. Which I think is interesting as its proof the idea of using stories to illustrate concepts and news ways of thinking as something as old as humanity itself.

That being said we live in a world of perception. You believe the world is at is because you perceive it that way. If there was a gorilla in the room next to you and you couldn't see it, to you, the gorilla would not exist even if others could and it could see you.

My point being that, like in The Matrix, there is another world out there beyond your current perception. It doesn't have to have invisible gorillas or weird parallel universe demons that are normally invisible. It generally only has to have small subtle differences.

Like the matrix, no one can explain it to you. You just have to see it for yourself. It sounds like a copout but it's like with Plato. He understood that changing your perspective or rather expanding it is something that one must struggle on their own to accomplish, and once they do its not reversible.

There's more truth to that video than even i understand right now. And part of it is that much of what I agree with I'm not taking literally because I understand how difficult it is to use current language to explain it. But I grew up listening to Terrence McKenna and I have a pretty good background on the general material.

To me the biggest benefit in expanding my views was in rediscovering the idea of God, Satan, demons, angels... I understand where these concept come from, what they are and their purpose.

But with every "power" comes a burden. I now have to live the rest of my life watching the world and humanity suffer because they aren't ready or willing to spend a few months learning about reality.... Most people would rather remain in the cave. It is the ultimate tragedy.

But again as Bill Hicks famously said, "It doesn't matter because it's just a ride."

My issue is with people pushing their theory as if it's fact. I love intuitive building of fresh explanations for things, but keeping in mind that they are rough sketches that could work in general but might be totally wrong when you get down to details. That kind of thinking is scientific because you're weaving grand theories, trying to put together lots of different things, and then testing them out. It's important to not be attached to any one theory because then you will explain away conflicting observations rather than revise the theory.

I know I and probably most people live in a very suppressed state of existence normally. I think a healthy, alive person would have a very active imagination and rich world, largely a subjective experience, but an experience that's tapped into the deeper insights we have into things. There science wouldn't be such a critical, dominating thing. It would fine-tune things but not be such a large mass of static, restricting ideas.

What of the catastrophic disaster that happens to earth every so often thousands of years is because of this evolving changing in our universe. Like density and vacuum of space pulling further our atmosphere higher. Stretching earths crust. Volcanoes movements floods change in everything. Gets to cataclysm event. Until it stabilizing. Destroying everything. Except say block built pyramids and shit. .
