I've ordered some Russian ones before since I grew up on Russian food, they seem better than the American ones Steve has reviewed but I have a bias towards eastern food with the exception of hamburgers and pizza.
The russian MREs look so fucking good, it's my dream to try a russian 24 hr MRE.
Aside from that, French MREs are high on the list of want to try. And Spanish MREs, they look exotic.
Russian food in general is super big on making great pâté and jams so if you like that kind of thing you can't go wrong. I've seen so many of these MRE videos and I think each one has seemed good to me (of the ones that aren't ruined by age of course). I like how you can get a sense of the taste palette of a whole country through its MREs. It's like a microcosm into what people there enjoy.
I think the only one I remember thinking looked terrible was one of the Chinese 2018 ones. I actually like Chinese food and the quality just looked terrible. Can't believe they would feed that shit to their soldiers.
pâté and jams
Two of my favorite food items on the planet. Hence my preference for Russian and French MREs! I'm also hoping I can get my hands on an MRE that has kasha in it. Been curious what that would taste like. I know it would taste better if I learned how to make it, but the canned stuff tickles my autism for some reason.
I saw the chinese mre videos! Steve got deathly ill off those suckers. Funnily enough, that plays into the whole "microcosm of the country" thing. Same with the pitiful South African MRE all decked out in nigger colors and fonts with 3 types of shitty kool aid lmao.
