Of all the deadly sins, pride is the only one that has been embraced wholeheartedly as a virtue in modern times. This should give you pause for thought. Maybe you are wrong to assume that pride is a good thing. Maybe all the bullshit by the Jews in the 1960s, talking about "black pride," was wrong-headed. Maybe instead of pride we should have humility and thankfulness in victory. Did the ancients get it so wrong, to make pride a deadly sin?
