This is terrible advice. If someone make me shoot them, I am not going to then go and attempt to save their life. I am not going near them. 911 is the extent of the help they get. I carry Celox, tampons, plastic and gauze in my pack along with Neosporin and bandaids.

I've had multiple physicians tell me that neosporin is snake oil. Could be better to replace that with a vile of iodine. Just my 2 cents.

Could be. I have never checked on or questioned Neosporin. I believed the commercial from the 70s where it claimed to heal faster than using nothing. Iodine is legit, but carrying a bottle in an abused backpack and having it break is a huge staining event. Just using the alcohol wipes are probably a simpler alternative.

Main reason I was given was that wounds need to breath to heal and keep them covering them with a petroleum based product completely negates that. The antimicrobial aspect I guess doesn't out way that. If you're working in a wet/dirty environment I could see it being beneficial for short term coverage.

I came across some "colorless iodine" that comes in a plastic bottle at a pharmacy. It's a mixture of alcohol, ammonium hydroxide, iodine, potassium iodine and purified water. Kind of an interesting solution.

I pulled out my bottle to double check it. It's actually called "decolorized iodine". This isn't the exact brand but it did come in a plastic white bottle.

The argument they're making is that you shouldn't carry one because using it in a self defense scenario might come back to haunt you. While that's' true, it also directly contradicts everything they say in the opening segment about saving other people's lives.

That is what they are paid for. The "don't give low hanging fruit" mentality is a cuck position, and a cuck argument. There is no evidence in it. The magic words to deflect are, "I have no duty to aid the aggressor (I called 911, if applicable)" and "I am not a practitioner of medicine. Its for my personal use only." for a judgement or professionalism challenge, and always, "I had to defend myself with lethal force against the aggressor. My life and limb was in jeopardy."

"I feared for serious injury to my person and feared for my life. I exercised my inherent right of self-defense" is what I was taught to say during Concealed Carry class.

Those two might be great lawyers, but I don't think either of them has ever seen the "Two-Way Range". They miss the obvious. Just like a Soldier's IFAK is on his kit for the treatment of that Soldier, my kit is for ME.

If you carry a weapon for self-defense, then you have already accepted the responsibility for your own continued well-being in the face of a potential lethal threat. That also means accepting that you could get shot. So what are you going to do about that sunshine.

Funny thing about bullets. In a gunfight, they tend to go both ways. If I'm out there using my trauma kit on anyone after a gunfight, it's going to be me. Fuck that other guy. I will happily start self-treatment, and smile at him while watching him bleed out right in front of me.

And if I don't get hit? I will still smile at him while watching him bleed out.

Exactly, prosecutors will try to spin every decision in a negative light. A competent defense attorney should have no trouble rebuking those arguments.

I wonder if they are talking in concerns of the civil suit by the BixNood who fucked around and found out. His lawyer will use the kit to say you were planning and prepared because you wanted to viscously assault his poor defenseless client who was only jogging by. Nevermind he was shot in your garage while armed with a gun.
