There's nothing wrong with exotic pets if you give them the care they require. It just takes a different kind of responsibility than a dog.

Well if you think about it it's near impossible to give them the "care" they require. A wild animal's instincts are not to be your friend or to co-habitate with humans. They are either to run from you or kill you and eat you.
No one cohabitates with exotic animals. These bobcats are not living in her bed. Even snakes can be trained to be sociable with an owner if done with respect.
Also there's a difference between wild and captive-raised and domesticated. The only animals that are domesticated are the ones that have lived under our care for tens of thousands of years. Captive-raised snakes behavior vs. wild snakes behavior, depending on the species, is a completely different thing.
